In a yet another hit-and-run case, a speeding BMW killed a 28-year-old man in Mumbai’s Worli area. The incident happened on July 20 and came to light on Monday (July 29).
The accused, Kiran Indulkar, fled the scene, but was later arrested. As per details, the victim was identified as Vinod Laad who succumbed to injuries on July 27, a week after the incident.
Vinod Laad was returning home from work on his two-wheeler when the speeding luxury sedan hit him hard from behind, leaving him severely wounded and fleeing from the spot at Abdul Gaffer Khan Road in Worli. Locals immediately rushed him to hospital following the incident. However, he died after a week.
This was the third hit-and-run case in Mumbai in a month.
On July 7, a speeding BMW, driven by Mihir Shah, son of Shiv Sena leader Rajesh Shah, rammed a scooter, killing a woman and injuring her husband in Mumbai’s Worli. His case was presented on July 16 in the Sewri court and his judicial custody has been extended till July 30.
Additionally, on July 22, a speeding Audi car hit two auto-rickshaws, injuring drivers of both the rickshaws and two passengers as well.
Again, on July 28, an Innova hit a rickshaw, killing the driver in Navi Mumbai.
