South Bengal is expected to witness inclement weather condition as the weather office had earlier predicted heavy rainfall for a week in multiple districts in the south from Monday till the first week of August.
According to the Alipore Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thundershowers in all the districts of South Bengal including Kolkata on Monday.
In addition, North and South 24 Parganas and East and West Midnapur are likely to receive heavy showers on Wednesday and Thursday. However, this week there may be more rain than usual. Fishing activities have also been prohibited currently due to rough sea surface.
On the other hand, heavy downpours are forecast in North Bengal’s Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar and Cooch Behar districts today. However, the intensity of rainfall is expected to weaken in the next 24 hours.
