A total of 15 former MLAs and an ex-MP, mostly from AIADMK in Tamil Nadu, joined hands with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Delhi on Wednesday. The incident developed ahead of the Lok Sabha elections this year.
The leaders including K Vadivel, MV Rathnam, R Chinnaswamy, and PS Kandasamy, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in the presence of Tamil Nadu BJP chief K Annamalai.
Welcoming the leaders, Annamalai said that these leaders want to strengthen the hands of Prime Minister Narendra Modi as he is coming back to power for the straight third time in the upcoming polls.
“Tamil Nadu is going the Bharatiya Janata Party way,” the state BJP chief said.
“It is clear that every citizen of India wants the transformation of the last 10 years to continue,” he noted.
