Delhi Rouse Avenue Court extended the judicial custody of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal till July 12 in a money laundering case in connection with the liquor policy scam on Wednesday.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief was produced via video conferencing and was sent to judicial custody following a plea by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which had arrested the AAP leader on June 26 during his stay at Tihar Jail.
The court has reserved its decision on Kejriwal’s plea seeking the presence of his wife during medical consultations with the special board of doctors from AIIMS, as per the orders of the court on April 22. The court will declare its decision on July 6.
Kejriwal was initially arrested on March 21 by the Enforcement Directorate and was later granted bail by the trial court on June 20. However, the High Court stayed the trial court’s order.
