Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah cast their votes in Ahmedabad under Gandhinagar constituency in the third phase of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections on Tuesday (May 7).
PM Modi took to X to appreciate the Election Commission of India (ECI) for their efforts to conduct smooth voting process in the first two phases of the elections and urged all to cast their precious votes.
Over 1,300 candidates including 120 women and over 11 crore country citizens are eligible to vote in this phase. Voting will be held in 94 constituencies across 10 states and one union territory.
Five states including Goa, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Karnataka and Assam will witness their polling in Phase 3. Meanwhile, West Bengal’s Murshidabad, Jangipur, and north and south Malda will go to polls today. In addition, two UTs – Daman and Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli will vote in this phase.
As per ECI, there has been a 25.41 percent voter turnout in the third phase of the elections till 11am this morning.
