Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh earned a second bronze medal in the 10m Air Pistol mixed team event on Tuesday. The event took place in the city’s at the Chateauroux Shooting Centre.
With this achievement, Manu Bhaker clinched two bronze medals at the Paris Games, with the previous one in the singles category in the same discipline.
This marks India’s second bronze medal at the same event. Whereas Sarabjot wins his first medal.
Bhaker is also the fourth Indian after Norman Pritchard (athletics), Sushil Kumar (wrestling) and PV Sindhu (badminton) to earn multiple medals for India at a Summer Games. No Indian has garnered multiple medals at a single edition - until Bhaker at Paris 2024.
In the 10m Air Pistol mixed team, Manu and Sarbjot finished occupying the third spot with 580 points and 20 perfect shots. The Indian duo defeated their Korean counterpart of Xue Li and Wonho Lee 16-8, who stood fourth with 579 points and 18 perfect shots, in the bronze medal match.
Whereas the Turkish team of Sevval Ilayda Tarhan and Yusuf Dikec, who earned the Olympic record with 582 points, will compete with Zorana Arunovic and Damir Mikec of Serbia in the gold medal match.
