At least three people were killed and 16 survived injuries in a mass shooting after an unidentified gunman opened fire in the US state of Mississippi on late on Sunday.
The mishap took place near a nightclub in the city of Indianola at Church Street, media sources reported. Police rushed to the scene soon after the incident that triggered panic among people who heard dozens of gunshots during the shooting.
“Several people said that they were standing out there, and they started to hear gunshots,” Indianola Police Chief Ronald Sampson addressed the media.
Three 19-year-old men were killed in the incident, informed Mayor Ken Featherstone, adding that the assailants were yet to be identified and motive behind the crime is yet to be ascertained by the police. Till now, no arrests were made in connection to the mishap.
