Amid blistering heat and high temperatures Delhi is facing, the weather department has announced a good news on Wednesday.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that the national capital and its adjoining areas are expected to witness rainfall along with thunderstorm from June 26 to 28, as the Southwest Monsoon advances across peninsular India and is expected to witness heavy to very heavy rainfall over the week.
The IMD forecast that rainy weather will prevail in the national capital till July 1.
As per the IMD, Southwest Monsoon is also expected to make a landfall in the North Arabian Sea, that will result in rainfall to several areas in central Maharashtra, Goa, Konkan, and Karnataka from today.
Further monsoon advancement is also likely in parts of Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and several other regions in the next three to four days, said the IMD.
Additionally, in northeastern India, rain accompanied by thunderstorm and lightning is likely over parts of West Bengal, Sikkim, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh from June 26 to June 29.
Meanwhile, heatwave conditions are likely to dominate in pockets of Jammu, western Rajasthan and Punjab on Wednesday.
