Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will go back to Tihar Jail on June 2 after he was granted an interim bail for 21 days by the Supreme Court for election campaign. He is scheduled to leave his residence at around 3 pm and will be accompanied by his supporters.

During his temporary release from the jail, Kejriwal participated in 67 roadshows, rallies, public gatherings and also gave 30 interviews to various media houses. Before he heads for Tihar Jail, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief will pay his visit to Mahatma Gandhi’s memorial at Raj Ghat, the party office at the DDU Marg and a temple.

The AAP leader took to X to inform about his planned visits before he surrenders, “First I will go to Rajghat and pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. From there I will go to Hanuman temple in Connaught Place to seek blessings of Hanuman ji. And from there I will go to the party office and meet all the workers and party leaders. From there I will again leave for Tihar.”


Kejriwal also held a meeting of the AAP"s Political Affairs Committee at his residence on Saturday morning that was attended by Atishi, Rajya Sabha MPs Raghav Chadha and Sanjay Singh, and MLA Durgesh Pathak were among the prominent leaders of the party.

In the meeting, Kejriwal stressed on the need for the party leaders to stay united in his absence. He also said that his wife Sunita Kejriwal will continue to covey his messages to party leaders, volunteers and the people of Delhi.

Kejriwal was granted an interim bail on May 10 by the Apex Court to conduct election campaigns for the Lok Sabha polls. He was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on March 21 in connection with the now-scrapped the Delhi excise policy case.
