Prime Minister Narendra Modi filed his nomination papers for the Lok Sabha elections from Uttar Pradesh’s Varanasi on Tuesday.
A video has gone viral that showed Modi walking into the office of the district magistrate and handing him over his papers. He was accompanied by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Many members of the BJP’s NDA were also present.
Varanasi will go to polls in the seventh and the last phase of the Lok Sabha elections on June 1. Hailing from Gujarat, PM Modi first contested the Lok Sabha elections from Varanasi in 2014. This is the third time he is in the fray from the holy city of India.
