A CRPF personnel was killed and six others sustained injuries in two encounters with terrorists on Wednesday morning in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua and Doda districts, officials confirmed. A Pakistani terrorist was shot dead by security forces following the attack at a village near the International Border (IB) in Jammu"s Kathua district on Tuesday night, leaving one civilian injured and one terrorist killed.
Police and security personnel deployed drones during search operation to get hold of a terrorist hiding in Seda Sohal village in Kathua district after the attack.
In Doda district, five troopers of Rashtriya Rifles and a special police officer (SPO) got injured when terrorists launched an attack at a joint check post in the upper reaches of Chattergalla on the Bhaderwah-Pathankot road.
On the other hand, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan Kabir Dass succumbed to severe injuries at a hospital after a terrorist opened indiscriminate firing in Kathua district’s Saida Sukhal village around 3 am, officials said.
Senior police officers led by the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) have reached the spot of the encounter and the police has cordoned off the area. In addition, house-to-house search operation is underway with the assistance of CRPF to locate any hiding terrorist.
