CM Mamata urges industrialists to invest safely in Bengal

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, at the 6th Biswa Bangla Trade Conference in Kolkata on Wednesday, has called upon all the most successful industrialists and urged them to invest safely in the state.

Addressing the industrialists at the event, Banerjee said, “Bengal government is moving towards the path of advancement and development and West Bengal is the first state to overcome Covid situation and organize the trade conference. The state has ample land for industry, surplus electricity and skilled workers making the state an ideal place for industrialisation. Bengal currently comprises more than 200 industrial parks. In terms of MSME, e-tender and 100-days job, Bengal ranks first.”

“Bengal's GDP rate is much higher than the entire country. There are no more strikes here and not a single working day goes wasted,” she added.

The minister further highlighted that the government is taking serious measures for the development of industries. The construction work of Tajpur port has also come a long way and the construction works of the freight corridor from Dankuni to Amritsar is in full swing. Meanwhile, the OMGC project has already been launched at Ashoknagar.

The TMC leader further added that where in India, unemployment rose by 40 percent, Bengal could reduce unemployment by 40 percent. We are always together despite multiple political differences. Those who live in Bengal are members of our family. At least one and a half crore jobs will be created in Bengal in the near future. Bengal has also shown remarkable progress in the fields of gas pipeline, coal and mines and IT sector. Ensuring social security along with progressive industrialization is also the priority of the state.

While concluding the event, Mamata addressed all the industrialists as their “family members” and said that all the investors are coming to Bengal and not any other state for investment. She even obliged all the business tycoons to consider Bengal as their “home”.
