Public lives thrown out of gear as heavy rains disrupt Delhi-NCR, waterlogged roads halts traffic

Excessively heavy rains in Delhi-NCR waterlogged several roads that brought traffic in a major halt, throwing public lives out of gear for the second consecutive day on Thursday. Some parts of NH48 in Gurgaon have also witnessed inundated roads.

The India Meteorological Department said that moderate rains will continue on Friday and over the weekend and issued a ‘yellow alert’ for Friday, cautioning people about the possibility of rains across the national capital. Meanwhile, private schools in Noida and Gurgaon have been advised to remain shut owing to massive rains.

The Met Office forecasted that the sky will remain generally cloudy across Delhi and the adjoining areas and moderate rain accompanied by thundershowers are expected to make a landfall. The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to be 28 degree Celsius and 23 degree Celsius respectively.
