3 killed, three others injured in shooting at Denmark shopping mall

At least three people were killed and three others injured as a gunman opened fire at a shopping mall in Denmark’s capital city Copenhagen on Sunday. The wounded victims have been rushed to a hospital and are reported to be in a critical condition, Danish police confirmed.

Copenhagen police inspector Sren Thomassen addressed the media saying that a 22-year-old Danish man has been arrested in connection with the random shooting at the mall in the city, adding that there was no indication of anybody else’s involvement in the attack. Police, however, began investigating. He further added that the motive for the attack is still unclear and  it is being considered as a 'terrorist act'.

The incident happened at Field's, one of the biggest shopping malls in Scandinavia and located on the outskirts of the Danish capital.

Meanwhile, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said that the Scandinavian country  has been the target of “brutal attacks” and urged all the countrymen to stand together in difficult situations. He sent condolences to the relatives of the deceased.
