The Mumbai Crime Branch arrested the fifth suspect accused in firing at Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s residence in Bandra. The accused, identified as Mohammad Chaudhary, was caught by cops from Rajasthan.
As per investigation, Mohammad Chaudhary helped the two other shooters, now arrested, to carry out the firing at the superstar’s Galaxy Apartment residence on April 14 and provided them a handsome amount to do the same. The two accused were Vicky Gupta and Sagar Pal.
Mumbai Police confirmed in a statement that Mohammad Chaudhary will be brought in Mumbai today where he will be produced in court and a demand for custody will be made.
Another accused, Anuj Thapan arrested earlier by the Mumbai Police, died by suicide at his cell on May 1. He was one of the arms suppliers in this incident. Following his demise, his mother has filed a CBI investigation into her son’s ‘suspicious’ death. However, police informed that he hung himself in the lock-up and died by suicide.
Investigations revealed that the firing case has a connection with Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
